How do I address a Lord Mayor?
Lest we present ourselves as a group of unruly revolutionaries, we should learn the correct way to address our friends from the United Kingdom.
The Lord Mayor's Office has provided us the following information on how to address the Lord Mayor.
The Lord Mayor and her Official Companion.
The Lord Mayor (in the most formal sense) is referred to as 'The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth' regardless of gender. If desired, the name, preceded by Councillor may follow the office - 'The Right Worshipful' should always be placed before 'The Lord Mayor'. The Lord Mayor is Councillor Lynn Stagg.
The Lady Mayoress (The current Lord Mayor has chosen a life-long lady friend (Anne Taulbut) to be the Lady Mayoress). Note that the Lady Mayoress is NOT referred to as 'The Right Worshipful'.
Below shows how to address the Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress in various situations.

Dress to conform to the fine Portsmouth summer weather and elegant but informal living style that will include long slacks and a collared shirt, with comfortable summer shoes (boat shoes are acceptable) with or without socks for men. A light summer sport jacket can be worn to complement the attire. Women can wear suitably comfortable, casual but elegant similar summer cocktail attire.
